Let's put the ART in Party!

It's been a fun weekend of celebrating the fourth birthday of our precious, kind-hearted and energetic Atticus! With as much as he loves to color and paint, I thought an art party was the perfect theme for his party this year!  Here is a tour of pictures from his special day!
Starving Artist Cafe (the food)
Welcome to Atticus' Art Studio where budding (and starving) artists can come create mini masterpieces while noshing on some good eats!

Every artist needs a little help getting those creative juices flowing!!!
Vincent Van Gogh's Veggies and Hummus
Pablo Picasso's Cake Push Pops
Salvador Dali's Chips & Salsa
Rene Magritte's Fabulous Fruit
Jackson Pollock's Paint Brushes
Henri Matisse's Creative Cookies

Art Stations:
Each child moved around at the own pace to all of the different art stations available, introducing them to a specific art form....some spent more time at certain stations and others kept coming back to their favorite over and over - it was so great to watch the kids in action!

STAMP CRITTERS

SPIN ART
Aaron and Londyn making her first spin art!
FREE ART
Brady and Conner share some brotherly time painting together!

WAX DRIP
This station was alot of fun to watch the wax masterpiece evolve from the first drip to the final drip!
Even Aaron got in on the wax drip action!!!!
Brady and Londyn have a turn... The more drips the merrier!

Atticus and Davey bring it on home!!!

MIXED MEDIA MONOGRAMS
Each child got to paint and decorate their initial with all sorts of mixed media options.  They were able to take home their initial along with all of their other art work.
Maya and Isaac are first to paint!
Fun for the whole family!
Davey, Cooper and Tess working hard on their monograms!
Letting the sun work it's magic (we had amazing weather for the party!).

FACE PAINTING
My sweet friend Angela came to paint the faces of Atticus and his friends...she did an amazing job!!!
And apparently after Atticus emerged from the chair as a tiger, everyone else wanted to be a tiger too...so we had lots of colorful tigers running around!

WATERCOLOR
Somehow I missed getting a picture at this station...I have no idea how or why and I'm pretty bummed about it, nonetheless, we had a watercolor station where the kids used markers to draw on coffee filters and then sprayed them with water bottles and watched the colors run together to make a whole new design.

ATTICUS' ART PARTY
I set up a little area for pictures using the drop cloth I used when I was making all of the party decorations so it was nice and colorful...here are a few of the photos from that spot:
 Jess and baby Landon
My sweet family!
Nana and the birthday boy!
Crazy kiddos...facing the sun.
So glad I have him by my side to share this journey of parenthood with!!!

RAINBOW PRIZE PUNCH
As they kids headed home they each got to pick a color and "punch" the hole to claim their prize...this was alot of fun - the kids loved it!!!
Londyn was first to go...Atticus did a fabulous job explaining how it worked:)
Tess and Davey discovering their prize!!
Matthew was so excited he gave Atticus a huge hug and they fell to the ground :)

BIRTHDAY SONG & PRESENTS
Atticus was not thrilled about me stopping him mid-art-creation so we could sing Happy Birthday to him...as evident by this picture...
However, he got over it and we all sang to him and then passed out Picasso Push Pops to everyone!

Opening presents!!!
It was a truly WONDERFUL day celebrating our sweet Atticus.  I can't believe it's been four years since he came into our lives and blessed us far beyond our wildest dreams! You are my joy boy John Atticus and I am so blessed to be your mommy!
