Happy Birthday Atticus

On the day you arrived, the sun smiled extra bright.
The world seemed to fill with God's love and God's light.
There were baskets of toys and a crib just for dreaming,
a snuggly duck blanket, Grams and Grandpa were beaming.
Friends and family arrived with so many surprises!
There were sleepers and teethers and shirts in all sizes.

We kissed your round cheeks, soft and smooth, like a rose.
We kissed your ten fingers and ten curly toes.
You gurgled and cooed as we rocked to and fro.
Even kitty and puppy and bird said hello.

We fed you and bathed you, and snuggled you tight,
thanking God up in heaven with all of our might.
Yes, we thanked God for you, and we sang you a song.
We knew we would cherish you all our life long.

Then quick as a wink, you grew big, bigger, voom!
No more bottles or crib, time to change Baby's room.
You can walk now, and talk now, and sleep in a bed.
You can glide down the slide with a frog on your head.

But there's one thing we need you to know, as you're growing.
There's one thing we want you to hear, so you're knowing...
We love you as much as that very first day,
Thank you God for sending sweet Atticus our way!

Atticus got to celebrate his birthday at school by bringing in a special snack to share with his classmates.  Their class mascot is an owl so we decided to make these yummy cookies - Atticus was a big help, he was quite the pro at adding the candy corn nose!
His teachers had a birthday crown waiting for him when he walked into class :)
They all sang Happy Birthday to him and he got to blow out the candle on the pretend cake before passing out snack to his buddies.
Snack Time!
When I picked him up from school he was still wearing his crown...and quite proudly I must say!
After school we picked up my mom from the airport and we had a ball hanging out with her!!
She brought him a new FSU outfit all the way from Florida...he loves to cheer for the Seminoles!
We also got to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa this weekend....they made the party extra special :)

His last night as a three year old....mixed emotions :)

Rise and shine big four year old!!!!!
We gave him a new scooter on his actual birthday...he LOVED it!  We have a steep driveway so he doesn't get to ride it outside at our house much, but he's been burning rubber on the hardwoods inside since he got it!  Lots of trips to the park in the coming weeks so he can scoot around town!
And it's not a birthday without a sombrero ...
or a cupcake!!!!
This is one tuckered out four year old!!!
