Today is brought to you by the letter "B"

Atticus and I have enjoyed a full day together - I was taken back to my days at Mango Elementary where I taught second grade for a few years...It seemed like everything Atticus and I surrounded ourselves with today started with the letter "B".  It was clear we needed to stop and have a small unit lesson on the letter "B"  Ha! :)  Here are a few of the fun encounters we had with our friend, the letter "B".

The weather was so nice that we spent alot of our day outside in the backyard on a blanket.
One of my favorite colors is BLUE - we stopped and looked at all the blue things in the backyard... Atticus just so happened to be wearing a blue shirt, his eyes are a beautiful shade of blue, we watched the clouds in the blue sky float by and we pointed out the blue flowers.
There was a nice breeze and we got to watch our garden flag blow back and forth in the breeze.  Our flag is next to the birdbath which was alot of fun to watch the birds come sit for a drink and splash around...couldn't ever get a good picture of them in the water (we have the prettiest bluebirds and cardinals in our yard though!!)
Atticus LOVES the bubble machine - anytime we're outside we turn it on and watch the bubbles blow away - It's sweet to watch him grab for the bubbles and then wonder where they go when they pop in his hands...  And on occasion Atticus has been known to try and eat the bubbles too!
We also threw out some bread for the birds...Atticus wanted to give it a try himself, but we decided to leave it for the birds :
There were several other "B" encounters in our day that I just didn't snap a picture of, luckily none of them involved real bees...yikes!  We played ball, we got to hear a neighborhood dog bark and we had bananas for our afternoon snack!
Hope your day is filled with lots of simple pleasures no matter what letter they start with.
