For Those About to "Rock"

One of Aaron's colleagues gave him a book called Be Prepared, A Practical Handbook for New Dads. It covers everything from how to change a diaper at a packed sporting event, how to babyproof a hotel room in under four minutes, and how to construct an emergency diaper out of a towel, a sock, and duct tape.

We both read it over the course of my pregnancy, but just last night got to put one of their creative ideas to the test...Since Atticus is still trying to organize his days and nights, we needed some help getting him to actually go to sleep at night (once he's down he's ok, it's just getting him to that point). Studies have shown that the most effective rocking mimics the mother's walking pattern, which is approximately 60 rocks a minute. Well, thanks to this book and Bob Marley, Atticus went to sleep in no time flat last night!! Most reggae music cycles around 60 beats per minute...Atticus fell asleep in daddy's arms rocking to Bob Marley's "Buffalo Soldier" which is almost a perfect 60 bpm.
