Easter Weekend

We had a fun filled weekend with birthday parties, egg hunts and Easter service at church.  Friday morning we met some friends for a playdate which also included an egg hunt and lunch....He was out the door and ready to GO!

Friday night we celebrated my friend Jessica's little boy Chase's 5th birthday at Pump it Up (an inflatable party place)....Atticus usually isn't crazy about those places so he was a little hesitant to jump right in, but when Aaron offered to go with him it was a different story....
Once Aaron went with him a few times he was so "pumped up" that he forgot that he was even scared and climbed up to the top by himself and the rest was history :)
He was so proud of himself when he got to the bottom!!!  He would yell, "I did it, I did it!!"
Then it was cake time!!!  Gotta love blue icing...thanks Jess!
He worked up a sweat running and jumping...and yes, he slept like a log that night!!!!  That's definitely a good thing about these places...they get tuckered out fast!
That same night after Chase's birthday party our church had a Good Friday celebration event at another inflatable party place....they rented the whole place and it was open to the community as an outreach.  Needless to say, by the end of the night we had all had our fill of inflatables :)
On Saturday we went to an extreme egg hunt hosted by one of Aaron's colleagues.  Their family saves all the egg shells they eat throughout the year.  It takes careful cracking to get them to only have a small opening on the end but they say it's worth it come egg hunt time.
Each egg was filled with confetti and then glued closed with a piece of tissue paper over the crack to keep all the confetti inside....There were 500 eggs!!!!!!  OMG, that's a lot of eggs (especially to someone that doesn't eat eggs!!).  The eggs were hidden all over the back yard - instructions were to collect as many eggs as possible and then make a big circle together in the backyard.
Once each kid had their stash of eggs the "extreme" part of the extreme egg hunt began.....
They had an egg fight!!!  When the eggs cracked all the confetti came out - it was so cool!!!!
Atticus would take one egg in each hand and run out to the middle of the circle and crack it on someone then run back to his stash where Aaron was waiting to hand him two more!!!
Everyone had a fabulous time...even some of the parents took aim at each other :)  Lucky for our hosts, the eggs and confetti make great compost for the grass!!!!
We know Easter isn't all about the Easter Bunny, but this morning Atticus was thrilled to see that the Easter Bunny had made a visit to our house...His basket was filled with all sorts of toys, games, and a few other silly things.
Daddy and Atticus took turns wearing his super cool egg glasses...

Time for church!!!  The weather today was surprisingly warm compared to what we've had the past few days so Atticus wanted to wear his "short pants" as he calls them instead of long pants.
Me and my sweet boy!
The Easter Bunny made an appearance at kids church today....Atticus ran up to him and thanked him for his basket of goodies, it was really cute!
 The family....
Atticus shares John 3:16 and his special Easter art that he made today!!!
So thankful for what this day represents....He is risen indeed!!!!
