Happy Who-lloween!

Atticus was a wise owl this year for Halloween.  When anyone asked him what he was dressed as he'd say,  "Atticus is an owl!"  It was so sweet to hear him say that!
A few of these pictures are from a Halloween party we went to last weekend (when it was a few degrees warmer) and so he was able to wear his striped leggings that came with his costume - they were pretty thin, but super cute.  Then you'll notice several other pictures from Halloween night he is wearing brown pants under his costume because it was much colder and he needed something a little thicker to keep his legs warm.

On Halloween night we went to our friends Nicole and Omar's house for a delicious baked ziti dinner and then went trick-or-treating with the kids in their neighborhood.
Atticus and I made some yummy White Chocolate Covered Popcorn for his buddies.  The recipe is super simple - you just pop two bags of butter microwave popcorn - melt 8 squares of white chocolate - mix popcorn and chocolate together in a large bowl then sprinkle in 1-2 tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice and toss to fully coat.  Spread on wax paper to cool.  We also added some candy corn and and sprinkles :)
Isaac dressed up as a tiger, Maya was a cat, and Atticus the owl was way more interested in the candy and pumpkins than in the camera...as usual.
Getting ready to head out into the world of crazy kids and candy!!!
Showing off his first piece of candy!!  He learned how to say "trick-or-treat" very quickly...It was SO cute!!
It didn't take him long to figure out this whole trick-or-treating thing... He was having SO much fun, and of course, loved the houses that were decked out with decorations!
By the end of the night the kids legs were tired (so were their parents) so it was a good thing we brought the wagons along with us...  The ride back to the house was funny, they were eating candy, trading candy, and basically bouncing off the walls!!
"King of the World!"

Haha...and just for fun, here's Atticus the past three Halloweens...
(4 weeks old in 2009, 13 months old in 2010 and a big 25 months old in 2011)
What a difference a year makes!
...And yes, I realize Atticus is going to hate me when he's 16 and I'm showing these pictures to his friends...but hey, I gotta take advantage of being able to pick his costumes while I can, right?

HAPPY "WHO"-LLOWEEN!!!
