Farm Fresh

One of the things I have fallen in love with here is our local farmer's market.  Each of the three Saturdays we have been in South Carolina we have made a trip to the market....and come home with a bounty of goodies.

We've been able to buy our produce for each week as well as pick up a few extras like herbs, beggonias, petunias, heirloom tomato plants (which are doing great!), and a japanese maple tree for the yard.
These heirloom, yellow tom, and red stripe tomatoes have been delicious on pizzas and in salads, in my fresh pasta sauce, and even just all by themselves!!!
We ate lunch at a local cafe in TR and Atticus got a side of strawberries with his meal...OMG, they were amazing and Atticus was so nice and shared with his parents :)  I've never had strawberries like these before - they were a shade of red that I can't even describe. We asked the owner where they were from and he pointed us up the road a few miles to a local farmer...we finished our lunch and were out the door!
This weekend I cooked the potatoes and green beans with a ham hock for several hours.  The house smelled so delicious!  Aaron made an amazing herb butter to drizzle over the top - it was a meal all in itself!
And with the leftovers we made a Feta, Rosemary, and Potato Pizza.  May sound totally disgusting, but one of our favorite places to eat in Conway was a gourmet pizza palor that made a similar pizza and it was mouth-watering!  For our version we use a fresh pizza dough that we picked up from the Publix deli and topped it with the left over green beans, potatoes, fresh rosemary, feta cheese, and olive oil...and threw it on the grill...WOW!  You must try!
On tonight's menu...
Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Shrimp Skewers
Fresh Grilled Corn with Parmesan and Thyme Butter
Squash and Tomato Medley and
Strawberries and Cream for dessert!
